Prince and Unified Defense Pay Scale Rollout
Prince and Unified Defense are implementing new pay scales
to position the organizations as the preferred employers of Middle Georgia. The
pay scales are based on market studies and aim to ensure internal equity and
fairness as well as provide pay transparency throughout the organizations. We
partnered with compensation consultants Newport to benchmark over 50 jobs using
data from reputable sources like Mercer and Comp Data to establish competitive
pay ranges for each position, or "seat", in both companies. Pay scale ranges
were entirely provided by Newport after an extensive process defining the exact
descriptions of each seat in both organizations.
The pay structure includes grades and ranges. Each employee will be given a grade that will indicate their pay scale. For each grade you will see a minimum and middle pay for their range. The pay scale maximum will be left blank to leave room for market adjustments.
Both pay raises and market revaluations will happen annually to ensure Prince and Unified Defense continue to provide competitive compensation for their employees. It is important to note that no employees' current pay will decrease after our pay scale implementation. It is also important to know that only 10% of the 300 employees required market adjustments after the evaluation. We encourage employees to temper their expectations for any major pay changes at this time.
Both companies emphasize the importance of job descriptions throughout
this process. We hope these provide clear expectations for each seat within
both organizations and clarifies pathways to not only achieve a higher position
but receive fair compensation as well.
We will include a few frequently asked questions below. If
you have any further questions, we encourage you to watch the video meeting

representative at your respective location.
FAQ
When will this roll out?
The pay scales were implemented on August 26th,
meaning any changes for the 10% who required market adjustments will be seen on
their paycheck received September 5th or 6th.
What determines my grade and position on the pay range?
Your grade is determined by the position you work in, while
your position on the pay range is determined by variables like tenure and
experience.
Is everyone in a higher grade than me making more money?
No. There is a lot of range overlap between each grade,
meaning an inexperienced employee in a higher grade could be making less than a
senior employee in a lower grade.
